So I got in shape, almost a year later, with the help of the Insanity workout coupled with working with a personal trainer at an elite gym here in South Florida. I’m proud of my results, and most importantly, want them to last a long time. For starters, it was important I changed my diet. Okay – Check. That’s been done and my bad eating habits have been changed for the better. Now, it’s time to get rid of other habits.

Smoking was a habit that just got out of control. It is a terrible habit that can affect you long after you smoke the cigarette. Of course, tobacco addictions are strong and one can develop cancer of the mouth and lungs due to this deadly substance.

But what about cigars? Are they bad for overall health?

Sure they are. Here is why. I did some research on the topic and it turns out cigars are pretty bad for you. If you inhale a cigar at the same clip you would inhale a traditional tobacco cigarette you have the same odds of suffering the same side effects! I didn’t know this but thanks to some research I was able to track it down. Nicotine addiction, periodontal health problems, tooth loss, and some types of cancer are some of the many health risks associated with cigar smoking. Many of the cancers that are associated with cigar smoking are very tough to cure – the numbers are against curing them and the survival rates are very slim these days.

While I do enjoy the occasional cigar, it’s been a long thought of mine to look into electronic cigarette smoking. Some brands make electronic cigars, but after reading some of the electronic cigarette review websites out there I am convinced the zero nicotine cigs that are made these days will probably suffice. You can now get a full flavor tobacco taste in the vapor smoking devices known as e cigarettes. While health studies are incomplete, there is no ash, no odor, and no tar. Amazing.

I’m going to be testing out these devices very soon and will report back my pick as the best electronic cigarette.

I’m getting back into it and going for broke here. The first round helped me get back in shape, if only a bit – but I didn’t complete the program. Yesterday I did my fit test with greater than expected numbers, but nothing to brag about. I will post them later on. For now, I’m going to do the Pure Cardio – always a challenge, always a reward when it’s done, this is my favorite Insanity day yet – because I haven’t done it in so long, I’m actually looking forward to hitting this hard and seeing if I can get to 190 pounds. I’ll report back tomorrow, assuming I can walk!

The onset of sudden joint pain can indicate many different things, so it is therefore important to take a long and careful look at all of the possibilities as to what it could be. The first explanation of this kind of pain is osteoarthritis, and it is a very common joint disorder that millions of people around the world experience. Although there is no known central cause of this condition, it is closely tied in with aging, however there are still genetic and chemical factors which play a part as well. The symptoms of this kind of condition usually appear in those who are middle-aged, and a majority of people who are upwards of 70 years old have them.

Experiencing this type of sudden pain in this area of the body could also mean that you are overworking your body with too much physical activity of some sort. If you have a job that involves constantly using your body and putting strain on the muscles and joints, then that could be one possibility. Those people who work in construction are more likely than others to have problems with sudden joint pain, although there are many other occupations where these type of sudden injuries are common.

Fracturing of the hip as a result of too much pressure placed on the bone can lead to a sudden feeling of pain in this area as well. If the bone punctures through the skin and it visible, then it is said to be a compound fracture, a very serious injury that must be dealt with right away. Leaving it untreated you risk infection and much more serious health problems as a result. These kind of fractures can result from anything like a car accident, falling from a great height, or repeated physical activity such as running. Even though this type of exercise is good for you, putting too much pressure on the muscles and joints can result in pain.

If your sudden joint pain still seems like a mystery, then you will also want to consider the possibility of tendonitis. It is essentially an inflammation or swelling of a tendon in the body. Your tendons make up the connection between the muscle and bone of your body. This condition can result from either minor or severe injuries, over-stimulation, or simply aging. Along with old age comes many unpleasant health problems, including arthritis and the wearing away of tendons, bone, and muscle. All of these things can cause a sudden pain in the joints.

Although it usually sets in over time and from an early age, rheumatoid arthritis is another reason you may be feeling pain in your joints. It is a condition which lasts for years and causes the joints to become inflamed as well as the tissues that surround the area. While it is a bit more rare, the organs in the body can also be effected by this type of inflammation. Although doctors and scientists alike do not have an official cause of rheumatoid arthritis figured out, there are theories that involve genetics and certain environmental factors as well.

Lupus, an autoimmune disease, could also be the culprit of your sudden joint pain. This is basically a condition where the body’s immune system begins to fight itself instead of outside infections like it should. The immune system begins to blur the lines between healthy types of substances and unhealthy ones, so the ability to fight off bacteria and toxins is extremely limited. Although it is considered to be a fairly rare condition, it is still a possibility that you may want to consider. It is best to get an official diagnosis from a physician who is licensed and can give you treatment options for whatever you may have that is causing this pain to occur.

To find instant comfort from joint pain that appears to come on suddenly and out of nowhere, you need to have many options. Flexcin is a medication that has a lot of people talking, and it can be just what you need to get relief from this sudden burst of pain that you are going through. To avoid products and methods of treatment that just don’t work, it’s best to research what you are considering trying. When you research Flexcin, you will see that it has a spotless reputation for aiding in the treatment of pain related to numerous health issues, and no matter how bad your pain is, this product can provide you with a way to stop it now.

So after a hiatus from Insanity, I tried the Max Plyo Circuit. Let me just say that I turned this off with 20 minutes remaining for many reasons. One, I was not ready for what Shaun T had today. Two, I had a few weeks off and didn’t expect such a difficult workout. Three, this workout will kick your butt!

Don’t believe me? Order it and you will find out for yourself: Insanity Buy Now

First, the video is an hour long. I saw that and cringed. But, I powered through the warm-up and while I was sweating HARD, I did make it through. He does a lot of different things in this session, such as some level 1, 2, and three drills. One drill has you do 16 push-ups, then 16 of those run-in-place on the ground things, then repeat. NOT EASY. I could not finish the second set of 16 push-ups. Call me a pussy, but I was in the gym all weekend and did not expect this.

At any rate, he also has a lot of new jumping exercises, sort of some modified globe jumps and some others. It’s not an easy workout, but one I plan on mastering. The staff looked tired in this one, and I can sympathize.

I went for a run this am, but will be back tomorrow to attempt another Shaun T workout.

I’ve been hitting the gym hard, the streets even harder! While I have not taken on the Insanity Challenge yet, (I want to give myself 60 days on it) I’ve been doing some cardio at Regional Park, where I saw none other than a Vikings all time great quarterback doing some drills, to hitting the gym at LA Fitness pretty hard. Recent South Florida celebrity sightings include Duane Johnson, AKA the Rock, and Lawrence Taylor. I can’t make this up! While the Rock is a very friendly guy, who women take photos of constantly, there were some rumblings in the men’s locker room about LT being nasty to some other guys. It’s all gossip though, and I can say I’ve met LT on the golf course and he’s a stand up guy.

Anyways, working hard to get back into shape. I did start taking a diet pill, but I don’t want to reveal just which one it is yet. I want to give a full week of training, good nutrition, and solid exercise before I divulge that information. I will say it’s working quite well, however, and the fitness quest is back on track!

Today was a day of some serious core training. Including a lot of seated rows, abdominal work, and Romanian Deadlifts. Not much else to report as I get back in the swing of things and ready to start Insanity on a daily basis again. I’m ready to start this Monday, but am not going to put weight training on the sidelines to do just Insanity. If I am not feeling Insanity, I’ll be in the gym pumping iron. I feel a good mix of cardio and weight training is what’s best right now. Too much Insanity drives me insane, no doubt.

So as mentioned, I took a brief hiatus from Insanity, because of two reasons I wrote about in past posts. I suggest you read them if you really care about how I got off track.

Today, I continued my quest to get back on track, by doing the Pure Cardio workout. I should say, I “gave my all” during the workout, because I stopped several times and cut it just short of completion. Not a great start to the day but it’s better than doing nothing, which is what I was doing the last several years.

I proved once again that this is a workout you must be diligent about, stick with, and give a fair, honest shot. I am back on track now, but did show myself that a hiatus, even brief, affects the mountains of progress made earlier.

This week I vowed to get back into things but not kill myself or over-do it, so I went to LA Fitness and did the following exercises in high rep fashion. Bench press, shoulder press, bicep curl. I did about 20 of whatever weight I could, then down to 15, finally until I could not do 12. Just wanted to document that on the Insanity blog. I am not sure if I will do an Insanity workout today or wait until tomorrow as my legs are super sore.

I haven’t decided on an exact date to start up on Insanity again, but today I came back and did “something” as my toe is starting to heal. The skin is finally all dead and I was able to trim most of it off. Although it is tender, I feel it’s time to get back in the swing of things.

I didn’t do the Insanity workout today, but I did run pretty hard for about 30 minutes. Not terrible, but in the blistering Florida sun, it’s pretty amazing I even got that far given my hiatus. I also started eating healthier again, and am doing a full body cleanse, which is called “Rapid Cleanse.” So far I haven’t had any side effects, and I’d rate my eating today at a 5 out of 5. If I can keep this up and increase my cardio levels, (which means getting back on the Insanity routine) I’ll be shedding weight in no time.

Weight today was 202.5. Yikes.
